Lauren Bowker

This talk was very insprirational and really encouraging. It was very interesting finding out about her collaborations from such a young age, and really the way she was pushing the boundaries and moving with the time.

Helped to encourage my initial worries about starting unit x and wanting to explore new techniques, her talk was very inspirational.

It really helped me to not neccessarily worry about our outcomes, but to enjoy the whole process that we were starting.

Claudia Hill

I came across her work, thought it would tie in nicely to the dying fabrics we are planning... She also made this by deconstructing an already formed garment into a new one.....

Looking at Redbrick around Manchester for inspiration...

Friday, 16 March 2012

So far I am enjoying working with my group. It is something I had not done before if it was not for Unit X, I am excited about the whole process and being part of 'wearing it'.
The Mosi space we have to work with is impressive, I am just worrying about the idea of making a garment and the idea of a 'digital' outcome.

I have just been looking at the marks from the photos I have taken and collected so far....

Manchester Past....

These are a few pictures I found when I was researching manchester in the past, I couldnt find that many aerial views but me and Emma have hopefully found some archive pictures at the central library that we can look into tomorrow:)
(Sorry about the poor quality!)

Andrew Brooks

I thought the talk today by Andrew Brooks could link to our work with his whole idea of his'hidden project' around manchester, just as we decided to look at the idea of hidden gems.
