Manchester Maps

Using the idea of hidden manchester, I started looking at aerial views of Manchester.I really liked the coincidental shapes shown on the maps. I decided to experiment with lino prints, carving the shapes of the maps.

This one is my favourite as I liked the effect of carrying on the map line....

This is one of the lino prints that I made; I made a few bit this on was A4,which was the biggest...

This is a print that I tried on fabric...

Projection Work

Today as a group we started first projecting our work onto a plain white shirt, we projected our samples and tried slowly down and speeding up the projections. We thought it worked really well, and the whole idea of the shirt resulted back to our intial forst ideas of 'hidden'

Further Sketchbook development....

Another Lino Print, this time I used the theme of a brickwall. I also used the colour palette I had been working with, which I think worked better than the Lino map prints.

Working with my dyed fabrics; I like using fabric I have dyed just because the colours I produced were not deliberate, and it gives me a nice range to work with.
